Kappes is a British cyclist who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at a young age. Despite this, he has had a successful career in para-cycling and has been a multiple gold medalist and world champion in the Paralympic Games.

At the 2012 Paralympic Games, Kappes competed in the Men’s B sprint event, which is a timed race where two cyclists race against each other on a track. Kappes took gold in this event.
